Learn More About Pickleball

What is this website all about?

The website was created because we want people to get excited about playing pickleball and join us in San Bernardino at Perris Hill Park. The more people there are to play, the better! It means you can come as a single and pick up a game with other people, or come as 2 players and play or join 2 others for a game of (4) doubles. The more people there are playing on the courts at Perris Hill, the more people there are to learn from and it makes playing more enjoyable. The City recently (Dec. 2020) converted 2 tennis courts into 8 pickleball courts (see photo Gallery) and we want to see them used and enjoyed.

We are not an organized group or association, nor do we have any affiliation with the City of San Bernardino. The purpose of this website is just to get the word out about the free asset the City is offering and have more people to play with and enjoy the courts.

When can I play?

The Perris Hill Park Pickleball Courts are open to the public for free on a drop-in basis.  Winter hours: Gates to parking area open 8am to 6pm. Courts are lighted. The best chance to pick up a match and avoid a crowd is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 8am to 12pm. Beginners are welcome, as are advanced players.

What should I bring with me?

A pickleball paddle, and a few pickleball balls are they only things you need. However, we do recommend that you bring some water, a hat, sunscreen, and in the winter dress in layers.

The courts are maintained by the City, however, the maintenance crews are not there daily.  Due to the large number of beautiful, mature trees around courts we recommend you bring a leaf blower if you have one.

What is Pickleball?

Pickleball is a paddle sport for two or four players. It's a fun, easy to learn game, and involves less running than tennis as the court is much smaller. Learn all about Pickleball here!
